Damen Marine Components delivers 19A nozzles for fishing trawler

The nozzles, supplied to Parlevliet & Van der Plas for its fishing trawler, Margiris, will facilitate a reduction in a vessel’s CO2 emissions.

The Margiris is one of the largest of its type in the world. It has recently undergone a modification project at Damen Shiprepair Amsterdam, which included nozzle renewal

The Marin/Wageningen 19A nozzle is produced using Damen’s Single Weld Spinning Method, and the spinning machine can produce nozzles with an inside diameter ranging from 1,000 millimetres to 5.3 metres on the outside.

According to Damen, the use of its spinning method reduces grinding and welding, which equates to less energy use and, therefore, less emissions.
