“K” Line LNG-fuelled car carrier launched

“K” Line has announced that its ‘next-generation environmentally-friendly’ car carrier has been launched.

In a statement issued today (24 August), “K” Line said that the LNG-fuelled vessel, which is being built at Imabari’s Tadotsu shipyard, was launched on 31 July.

‘Construction is currently on going with an estimated delivery within the 2020 fiscal year,’ said “K” Line.

The ship’s main engine is a dual-fuel ME-GI with an exhaust gas recirculation system (EGR) to comply with IMO NOx Tier III. The auxiliary engines are also dual-fuel.
