Sonangol has informed ship.energy that it is currently working to develop a strategy to produce green hydrogen and it has also been running studies to identify a possible site for a production plant.
In a statement sent to ship.energy today (10 March), Sonangol said: ‘The initiative is part of the company’s energy transition strategy, in the search for renewable energy resources developed in partnership with the German companies Conjuncta GmbH and Gauff GmbH & Co. Engineering Kg, which signed an agreement to implement a factory to produce green hydrogen in Angola.’
The company added that Angola’s climate as well as its ‘hipsometric and abundant water resources’ make it ‘stand out as a country with high potential in renewable energy sources’.
