Containership owner Danaos Corporation has placed orders for two methanol-ready 7,100 TEU boxships.
The vessels will be built at Dalian Shipbuilding in China and are expected to be delivered in Q2 and Q3 of 2024, the company announced yesterday (14 March).
‘These vessels are at the forefront of new technology, come with the latest specifications on emissions requirements and are methanol ready,’ said Danaos Corporation CEO, Dr. John Coustas. ‘With this order Danaos continues to solidify its position as one of the major players in the containership market worldwide.’
As previously reported, in November, Danaos Shipping joined the Methanol Institute.
