VDL AEC Maritime secures order from Seatrade Groningen for two SOx scrubber systems

VDL AEC Maritime has received an order for two retrofit scrubber systems from the refrigerated shipping and logistics shipping company Seatrade Groningen BV.

The order is Netherlands-based VDL AEC Maritime’s first for a Dutch shipowner.

The two SOx-scrubber systems will be delivered and installed before the end of 2022.

‘This deal is very important for us. We are very excited with our new client Seatrade Groningen and we are looking forward to a great cooperation,’ said VDL AEC Maritime’s Joost Wijdeveld. ‘For us this is another milestone and thanks to optimisation of our supply chain and a sophisticated strategic inventory policy we are able to reduce lead times for Seatrade, despite worldwide material shortages, in order to deliver quickly.’

VDL AEC Maritime, which has its own in-house manufacturing plant at VDL KTI located in Belgium, says it has installed almost 100 SOx-scrubber systems across a range of vessel types and sizes.
