ADNOC L&S takes delivery of second dual-fuel VLCC

ADNOC Logistics and Services has taken delivery of the Habshan, the second in a series of four newbuild dual-fuel very large crude carriers (VLCCs) set to be delivered this year.

In a statement issued today (17 July), ADNOC L&S said that the first VLCC, the Hafeet, was delivered last month while the third and fourth VLCCs are scheduled for delivery in the third and fourth quarters, respectively.

The vessels were built by Hanwha Ocean, formerly known as Daewoo Shipbuilding and Marine Engineering, at its Okpo Shipyard in Geoje Island, South Korea. All of them can run on both LNG and conventional marine fuel and are set to trade on the spot market.

The Habshan has a length of 336 metres and a deadweight of 300,000 metric tonnes, carrying approximately 2 million barrels of crude per voyage.
