Eastern Pacific Shipping (EPS) has announced that it has completed its first LNG bunkering operation in the United States.
On 24 August, the Singapore-based shipping company’s dual-fuel Suezmax Starway received 3,300 cubic metres (cbm) of LNG from the Shell-chartered, 20,000 cbm-capacity LNG bunker vessel Avenir Achievement at Galveston offshore anchorage.
‘Starway currently trades in the spot market. Given the volatility in LNG pricing, bunkering for spot vessels showcases EPS’ commitment towards decarbonisation,’ EPS said in a social media post today (29 August).
