Hapag-Lloyd extends Ship Green service to reefers

Hamburg-headquartered Hapag-Lloyd has announced that its biofuel-based Ship Green service has been expanded to include reefer containers.

As previously reported, the shipping company launched the Ship Green service last May, allowing customers to choose different levels (100%, 50% or 25%) of CO2 emissions avoidance by using biofuel. The service has hitherto only been available for dry cargo.

In total, Hapag-Lloyd’s Ship Green service is available for standard containers (22/42/45GP), hardtop containers (22/42/45UP) and tanks (22/20TD, 22/20TN, 22/20KL, 22/20TG).
