Liner shipping companies propose new GHG pricing mechanism to spur green fuel uptake

Ahead of next month’s Marine Environment Protection Committee (MEPC 81) meeting, the liner shipping industry, through its trade association, the World Shipping Council, has tabled a proposal on greenhouse gas (GHG) pricing which it says makes it possible to ‘close the price gap between fossil fuels and green fuels, at the lowest possible overall cost.’
