Goltens, a marine and energy services provider, has teamed up with Greener Process Systems (GPS) to deploy carbon capture technology aimed at reducing emissions in ports and power plants.
The partnership will primarily focus on GPS’s SETH system, which captures emissions from ships docked in ports without requiring significant infrastructure changes.
The SETH system is designed to reduce air pollution from various vessels, including tankers, cruise ships, and freighters, while they are docked in urban ports. This technology is expected to help ports meet environmental regulations and lessen the impact of maritime emissions on nearby communities.
In addition to its port applications, the collaboration will extend GPS’s emissions capture technology to industrial settings, including power plants. This broader use aims to address emissions in key industries, including power generation, steel, and cement production.
‘This partnership reflects our commitment to environmental sustainability and supporting the transition to greener practices,’ said Goltens’ COO, Roy Strand.
The initiative highlights the potential of GPS’s technology to improve emissions management both in ports and across various industrial sectors.
