Glander International Bunkering strengthens biofuel strategy with ISCC renewals

Glander International Bunkering has renewed its ISCC EU and ISCC PLUS certifications, reinforcing its position as player in the sustainable biofuel market.

The recertifications cover the company’s operations in Dubai, Singapore, Tønsberg, Geneva, and Valencia.

These certifications, granted by the International Sustainability and Carbon Certification (ISCC) system, are crucial for ensuring that biofuels meet strict sustainability and greenhouse gas (GHG) emission reduction standards.

Biofuels are an increasingly attractive alternative in the marine sector as companies look to find additional options ahead of upcoming Fuel EU Maritime regulations, set to take effect on January 1, 2025.

Glander International Bunkering is offering 2nd generation biofuels at over 100 ports worldwide. According to the company they have recently delivered B100 Hydrotreated Vegetable Oil (HVO) to a seismic survey vessel and facilitated first-time biofuel supplies for several other clients.

The ISCC certification renewal process involved an audit of the company’s biofuel operations, as well as documentation reviews, site inspections, and stakeholder interviews to ensure adherence to social, environmental, and traceability standards.
