A partnership has been formed between German ferry and RoRo cargo operator TT-Line, and Italian classification society RINA, to advance sustainability and digital transformation in maritime operations.
This collaboration aims to reduce CO2 emissions and improve energy efficiency across TT-Line’s fleet.
RINA stated they have been selected as a classification partner by TT-Line due to their. Together, the two organisations will implement strategies to meet the International Maritime Organization’s (IMO) environmental regulations.
Pino Spadafora, Global Marine Commercial Senior Director at RINA, described the significance of the partnership, stating, ‘This collaboration reflects our mutual commitment to driving sustainability in the maritime sector. By combining our expertise and innovative solutions, we can significantly reduce the environmental impact of shipping.’
As part of its recent fleet expansion TT-Line recently launched its second LNG powered, green ferry, Peter Pan. This follows on from the Nils Holgersson,which was involved in the first LNG & BioLNG delivery in the Port of Lübeck in 2022.
‘Together, we’re not only moving people and cargo but driving real change,’ Spadafora added. ‘Under RINA’s guidance, TT-Line’s fleet is setting the benchmark for safe, reliable, and environmentally responsible maritime operations.’
