Stillstrom joins the Maritime Battery Forum

The Maritime Battery Forum (MBF) has welcomed offshore power and charging solutions company Stillstrom as its newest member.

In a statement issued yesterday (1 May), MBF said that through its membership, Stillstrom, which operates as an independent company under the A.P. Moller-Maersk Group, aims to strengthen its global network of innovators, regulators, and industry leaders working toward maritime electrification.

‘With MBF’s global community, Stillstrom can connect with pioneers in maritime battery development, collaborate on projects, research initiatives and continue to promote the adoption of clean energy technologies in the maritime industry,’ MBF said.

Commenting, Kristian Borum Jørgensen, CEO of Stillstrom by Maersk, said: ‘We are thrilled to join the Maritime Battery Forum and collaborate with industry leaders to drive the green transition in the maritime sector.

‘At Stillstrom, we are committed to delivering innovative offshore power solutions that reduce emissions and create a cleaner future for coming generations.’

As previously reported by ship.energy’s sister publication Bunkerspot, Stillstrom and the Panama Canal Authority (ACP) recently signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to explore the implementation of the latter’s offshore charging technology to reduce emissions from vessels idling in and around the Panama Canal.
