The ship.energy roundtable at Maritime Week Americas will provide a platform for informed and highly focussed debate on the progress of shipping’s energy transition, with an emphasis on developments in North America.

Industry experts and practitioners will offer their insights on the alternative fuels that are already contributing to shipping’s decarbonisation in the region, such as LNG and biofuels, as well as the fuels that are at the start of the journey to commercialisation and widespread availablity, such as hydrogen and ammonia.

The conversation will also consider technology’s contribution to decarbonisation, including onshore power and vessel optimisation solutions.

The impact on shipping of current and upcoming environmental legislation (global and national) will be firmly on the agenda, as will ‘the price of carbon’ for the industry, the imperative of a collaborative approach to delivering decarbonisation, and the critical question of how the energy transition is being – and should be – funded.

Confirmed roundtable panellists are:

  • Moderator :  Matthew Fisher, Vice President of Corporate Development and Sustainability, Eagle LNG
  • Robert Butts, Manager, LNG Business Development, Pivotal LNG
  • Arturo Cruz, Director. Business Development, Crowley Shipping & New Energy
