The Port of Rotterdam Authority has named eight projects that will collectively achieve a reduction of 575,000 tonnes of CO2e in the port area for which the authority will pay €3.5 million, which is an average of €6 per tonnes of CO2, over a period of four years. Motive Energy has been awarded a contract to design and deliver the charging and energy infrastructure which will support Curtin Maritime’s future fleet of electric tugboats at the Port of Los Angeles. As previously reported by ship.energy, last September Los Angeles-based electric boat company Arc announced a $160 million contract with Curtin Maritime to work together on the development of eight hybrid-electric tugboats that will be built by the Seattle-based Snow & Co shipyard. Class society RINA and Hamburg Port Consulting (HPC) have been awarded a five-year contract for the latest phase of the Organisation for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE) project, Promoting Green Ports and Connectivity in the Caspian Sea Region.
