The 2,050,336 tonnes of bunker fuel and marine lubricants sold in the Port of Antwerp-Bruges in the second quarter (Q2) of the year marked a 3.2% increase on the 1,987,455 million tonnes that were recorded in the same period in 2025. The Port of Oakland handled 181,356 TEUs (twenty-foot equivalent units) in June, a 7.7% increase over June 2025. In a statement issued on Friday (17 July), the Californian port said the result was driven by solid growth in both imports and exports, with loaded container cargo rising 10.3% year over year.  Full imports reached 78,114 TEUs in June, up 11.1% year-on-year (y-o-y), while full exports increased 9.3% to 65,140 TEUs. Lithuanian shipbuilder Western Baltic Engineering (WBE) has unveiled a concept design for an 800 metric tonne-capacity green methanol bunker vessel that has been developed for the operational needs of the Port of Klaipėda. In a social media post issued this week, Klaipėda-based WBE, a subsidiary of the BLRT Grupp, said the 70-metre-long vessel had been designed for ‘flexible operations in shallow waters and local bunkering routes’.
