Oslo-based Xeneta says the acquisition of Copenhagen-headquartered eeSea will add global schedule, transit time and reliability data to its existing range of freight rate data. Xeneta highlights that the landscape of trade tariffs and geopolitical volatility have resulted in carriers facing blank sailings, congestion and increased transshipment leading to cost uncertainty and deliverability challenges for shippers. Eastern Shipbuilding Group has announced it has received a Notice to Proceed from Washington State Ferries (WSF) to build two 160-vehicle hybrid-electric ferries, with an option for a third, for the state of Washington. As previously reported by Bunkerspot, Governor Bob Ferguson announced last month that he had selected the $714.5 million bid from Florida-based Eastern Shipbuilding Group to build the vessels.
