The 2nd Hybrid to Zero Conference returns to Oslo, bringing together shipowners, operators, ship designers, financial institutions, technology providers and port stakeholders to explore how hybrid and electrification technologies can move from individual projects to scalable, commercially viable operations.
As maritime decarbonisation accelerates, shipowners are facing a new reality. Regulatory requirements are increasing, while fuel costs, infrastructure constraints, technology choices and investment risks are making the transition increasingly complex.
The question is no longer simply whether vessels need to decarbonise, but which solutions make sense, where they can be deployed, and how they can deliver a viable business case.
Hybrid and electric propulsion, scalable battery technology and shore-to-ship energy solutions are already being deployed across a growing number of vessel segments. The next challenge is scaling these solutions and connecting the right technologies with the right projects.
The event focuses on the vessel segments at the forefront of the short sea shipping transition, including ferries, RoPax, CTVs/SOVs, tugs and coastal cruise vessels, bringing together decision-makers from shipowners and operators with technology providers developing the solutions needed for the next generation of vessels.
The conference is built around practical discussion, knowledge exchange and business networking. Panels and case studies will create opportunities for shipowners to share their current challenges and priorities, while technology providers can demonstrate how their solutions address real operational needs.
Each panel discussion will conclude with an interactive Q&A, giving participants the opportunity to engage directly with industry leaders and subject-matter experts.
