Session Six: The shock of the new – shipping’s decarbonisation

The ARA region is a hub of innovation in terms of shipping’s energy transition. This session will focus on the supply infrastructure that is in place – or is building – for the raft of alternative fuels that will be available to shipping. It will look at the key role that ports are playing in support of shipping’s decarbonisation and it will also take a ‘deep dive’ into what the EC’s ‘Fit for 55’ basket of measures may mean for the shipping and bunker industries. What will the ‘brave new world’ of emissions trading and marine fuel taxation really look like?
