Daniel Gent was appointed in February 2026 to lead the marine fuels transition for Soya Group, which partly owns United European Car Carriers (UECC), Wallenius Wilhelmsen and Wallenius Sol. Previously, he worked for UECC for 18 years, was responsible for the companies fuel purchasing and sustainability initiatives. He began his career as a deck cadet with Maersk and also worked as a bunker trader for World Fuel Services.
Speakers in this session will consider the global new marine fuel supply chain – from production to delivery – and examine how it is taking shape and what are the challenges to its execution in terms of commercial resilience, fuel availability on a global and regional scale, fuel production at scale, and stakeholder and cross-sector collaboration. Chris Greenwood is the Commercial Director for Western Europe & the Americas at Bureau Veritas. Chris spent more than 14 years at ABS in various operational and commercial roles in South Korea, Japan, Singapore, and Dubai, after which he was a VP at Inchcape Shipping Services.
In each role, Chris’ focus has been on decarbonisation, safety, technology, and regulatory compliance.
Chris has a Bachelors in Marine Technology, a Masters in Project & Program Management, an Executive MBA, and is a Member of the Institute of Chartered Shipbrokers.

Holly Henderson is a Low Carbon consultant supporting large-scale energy transition initiatives, including low-carbon fuels, carbon capture and offshore wind. She leads feasibility studies, go-to-market strategy and logistics trade-off analyses, helping projects align technical performance, cost and sustainability objectives.
Her background in the Royal Navy, Ministry of Defence and Amazon brings practical experience in high-tempo operations, deployed supply chains, through-life support, supplier performance and large-scale distribution, including responsibility for critical maritime, aviation and cross-dock logistics operations.
She is nearing completion of an Executive MBA at the University of Warwick, which she uses to bring a broader business perspective to low carbon project work by linking technical and logistics decisions to commercial value, lifecycle cost, delivery risk and long-term investment viability.

Kenneth Thorup is Sales Director at FuelTech in Denmark, where he works at the forefront of developing advanced fuel systems for emerging alternative fuels. Reaching a 25 year long career that has evolved from hands-on operational roles e.g. sailing as Marine Engineer at A.P. Moller Maersk, to strategic commercial leadership, Kenneth brings a practical and market-driven perspective to the energy transition in the maritime industry.
He has extensive experience in supporting shipowners and shipyards with fuel system solutions for next-generation fuels, helping bridge the gap between regulatory ambition and technical implementation. At FuelTech, he is actively engaged in enabling the adoption of multiple fuel pathways, contributing to the industry’s move toward decarbonization.
Kenneth is known for combining technical insight with commercial acumen, and for driving collaboration across stakeholders to turn complex challenges into viable, real-world solutions.

Gavin Allwright is the founding Secretary General of the International Windship Association (IWSA), established in 2014. and continues in this elected post today. He heads the IWSA delegation at the International Maritime Organisation (IMO) where the organisation holds consultative status, along with sitting on the European Sustainable Shipping Forum. He is also a non-executive board member on the World Wind Energy Association (WWEA) and acts in an advisory capacity for numerous maritime projects and initiatives.
Gavin holds a Masters degree in Sustainable Development, specialising in small scale sustainable shipping and logistics in developing countries. He regularly runs seminars and short courses as a visiting lecturer at a number of universities and colleges, including the UN World Maritime University, Malmo, Sweden. He also regularly writes articles on the development of wind propulsion and sustainable shipping for a number of publications and is on the editorial board of the Journal of Sailing Technology.

Peter is an accomplished international CEO with over 30 years of experience in the global shipping industry. He began his career at A.P. Moller-Maersk, rising to Deputy Director, and later held senior leadership roles at major cargo operators including D/S Norden (SVP & MD Asia), Lauritzen Bulkers (President & CEO), and NORVIC Shipping International (President & CEO).
Peter has led strategic operations across key maritime hubs such as Copenhagen, Seoul, Beijing, Singapore, and Dubai. Beyond executive leadership, Peter is deeply involved in maritime innovation, serving or having served on investment committees for Rainmaking, Motion Ventures, and The Shipping Collective, and on the board of AI start-up Shipster.ai.
He holds degrees from IMD (MBA), Wharton (AMP), Copenhagen Business School (Board Program), and was a Fulbright Scholar at Georgetown University (Asia Studies).

Neel is the CEO and Co-Founder of PuriFire Energy, a Cambridge-based startup transforming wet waste into green fuels and chemicals. Neel has over 20 years of experience in M&A investment banking, private equity, fundraising, and startup operations. MBA from INSEAD in France and Singapore.
Ports are key stakeholders and, potentially, accelerators of shipping’s energy transition. They are developing strategies for the decarbonisation of their own working environment whilst accommodating market demand for the safe and efficient bunkering of new marine fuels, and, in some cases, establishing their individual profiles as import and export hubs for new energy commodities.

Mr. Kruger is an electrical engineer by training and spent 12 years in the semiconductor industry before deciding to move to batteries. In 2008 he and his team developed the first traction battery for the Fisker Carma series hybrid automobile.
He joined Corvus in 2010 as their director of engineering and developed the first DNV, LR and ABS type approved battery for marine propulsion in the industry. This battery was used in many industry firsts. From there he joined PBES as their CTO in 2015 and developed their high-power battery, the first liquid cooled battery capable of 3C RMS. In 2018 he started AYK with the intention of creating a state of the art, safe yet cost-effective battery, obtaining DNV type approval in 2021.
He and his team in AYK delivered more than 100MWh of marine battery and took the company to positive EBIDA in 2024.
