Spanning four days of engaging, informative, and dynamic activities, the Forum’s aim is to bring international industry stakeholders to Helsinki to learn firsthand about the Nordic Baltic region’s strong maritime capabilities, technological excellence, and proactive approach to innovation and sustainability.
The Forum will highlight innovation in marine energy (conventional and alternative fuels), shipbuilding and technology, and ports and terminals, with a key focus on Finland’s contributions to these sectors.
A Place for Maritime Collaboration and Information Exchange
The Forum programme is designed to foster international collaboration and knowledge exchange through an exciting mix of events taking place between 23-26 March, including:
A visit to P2X Solutions renewable hydrogen production plant at Harjavalta, Western Finland. This is Finland’s first industrial scale renewable hydrogen production facility.
The Nordic–Baltic Maritime Resilience Summit
13:00-17:00 – Tuesday, 24 March
The aim of the seminar is to foster open dialogue and knowledge exchange among authorities, sectoral experts and key maritime stakeholders. The focus is on concrete cooperation models, risk-management practices and operational approaches that help ensure the uninterrupted functioning of critical maritime transport chains and security of supply, even in an evolving security environment.
The Summit is organised by Port Pool / Finnish Ports Association and Maritime Transport Pool / Finnish Shipowners’ Association, under the auspices of Finnish National Emergency Supply Agency (NESA).
A visit to the Port of Helsinki
A technical visit to the Port of Helsinki’s West Harbour. This guided visit will provide an overview of port operations, infrastructure and the systems that enable efficient vessel turnaround and high passenger and cargo throughput.
Innovation Day
Wednesday, 25 March
This is a highly focused day of events which will explore shipping and ports’ energy, technology and regulatory landscape and the pathways to sustainability and decarbonisation.
The events are delivered by NBMF Innovation Partners across a range of formats, including roundtable discussions and working groups, specialised seminars and discussion panels – all of which are intended to encourage delegate interaction and foster cross-disciplinary conversations.
Headline Conference
