Mitsui O.S.K. Lines (MOL) has held a naming ceremony for  the LNG dual-fuel very large crude carrier (VLCC) Tsurugidake at the Dalian COSCO KHI Ship Engineering yard for Equinor ASA. In a notice posted on LinkedIn two days ago, MOL said that the Tsurugidake is the third dual-fuel VLCC that it has delivered to Equinor under a time charter contract. Singapore-headquartered Eastern Pacific Shipping has flagged its 700th LNG bunkering operation, which was undertaken for its Lake Victoria pure car and truck carrier (PCTC) in Emden, Germany. Announcing the milestone via a social media post, the company noted that it began LNG bunkering operations in November 2020 and since then it has reached a total LNG bunkering volume of 2,920,191 cubic metres. Cruise company Carnival Corporation will install Silverstream Technologies’ air lubrication systems on its three LNG dual fuelled Ace Class vessels which will be constructed at a Fincantieri shipyard in Italy, with the first in the series, Carnival Destiny, scheduled to arrive in summer 2029. The 230,000 gross-ton vessels, slated for delivery in 2029, 2031 and 2033, will be the largest in Carnival’s fleet and also the biggest ships to be built by Fincantieri.
