Industry veteran Michael Behmerburg has joined the Hamburg-based Germania Shipyard Agency where he will be responsible for sales and business development. Behmerburg worked for Hapag-Lloyd for over 37 years in number of roles, and lastly as Director of Green Fuels. He subsequently was appointed as Managing Director at Bunker One, Hamburg, a post which he left in October 2025 to join Royal Caribbean Group as Senior Director, LNG Operations. Engine manufacturer Everllence has signed an Engineering Design Agreement (EDA) with Shanghai-based Hudong-Zhonghua Shipbuilding (Group) Co. for the development of a 180,000 cubic-metre class LNG carrier featuring an Everllence DFE+ (Dual-Fuel, Electric+) propulsion system. The two companies have previously collaborated on the delivery of 10 conventional DFDE (Dual-Fuel Diesel Electric) LNG carriers. The Hong Kong and China Gas Company Limited (Towngas) recently invited an industry delegation led by the Transport and Logistics Bureau of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region of the People’s Republic of China (HKSAR) Government to visit the VENEX green methanol plant in Ordos, Inner Mongolia which is currently scaling up its annual production capacity to 300,000 tonnes.
