Brazil’s national oil company Petrobras has today sent an email to its customers informing them that its bunker department has received authorisation to sell products for vessels bound for foreign destinations via barge at the port of Suape. Kansas-based ICM, Inc. will be providing process technology for Atvos’ first corn ethanol facility in Brazil. The project will be integrated into Atvos’ existing Santa Luzia industrial complex in Nova Alvorada do Sul, Mato Grosso do Sul. When complete, the facility will be able to process 642,000 metric tonnes of corn annually and produce 273 million litres of ethanol per year, along with 183,000 metric tonnes of DDGS [Distillers Dried Grains with Solubles] and 13,000 metric tonnes of corn oil. Exmar has held a naming ceremony for the Adinkerke and Aalter, the company’s third and fourth dual fuel ammonia ocean going vessels. ‘Soon, they will join our fleet, next to their sister vessels Antwerpen and Arlon,’ Exmar said in a social media post today (27 August). As previously reported, Exmar took delivery of the Antwerpen, the world’s first oceangoing vessel powered by a dual-fuel ammonia engine, in June. The following month, the vessel completed its first ammonia-powered commercial voyage. Meanwhile, the Arlon was delivered at the HD Hyundai Heavy Industries shipyard in South Korea, in late July.
