Marine fuel sales in Fujairah continue to be impacted by events in the Strait of Hormuz, with the combined volume of high and very low sulphur fuel oil (HSFO and VLSFO) falling to 118,674 cubic metres (cbm) in April, which is a 20.5% fall from the 149,215 cbm sold in March. Lloyd’s Register Foundation has informed ship.energy that it is supporting a new £500,000 project to tackle inconsistent worker safety and corporate accountability standards across ocean industries. In a statement sent to ship.energy today (18 May), Lloyd’s Register Foundation said that the C4Safe project, led by Lancaster University, will look to ‘create the first corporate‑focused reporting and accountability toolkit designed specifically for ocean‑related sectors’.
