Aegis Logistics Limited has reported that it has commissioned a terminal at Pipavav Port in India that is ‘specialised for the storage and terminalling of ammonia’. In a statement filed with the National Stock Exchange of India yesterday (10 August), Aegis Logistics said that the facility has capacity for up to 36,000 metric tonnes (mt) of ammonia. Maersk has reported that terminal operations at the port of Buenaventura have been temporarily suspended as a result of the earthquake which hit Colombia on Monday. In a statement issued today (11 August), Maersk said that vessel operations, cargo handling activities, and service schedules in Buenaventura had all being affected, while road closures and traffic restrictions on key inland corridors between Buenaventura and the interior of Colombia may affect import and export cargo movements.
