Maritime software provider NAPA has launched a new product, called NAPA Checklist, which replaces onboard paper and static PDF checklists with a digital workflow. The product was co-developed and launched with HX Expeditions, which is now rolling out the NAPA Checklist across its expedition cruise ship fleet. Grimaldi Group took delivery of the 9,800-car equivalent unit (CEU) Grande Pacifico yesterday (10 August), which is the thirteenth vessel in a series of fifteen ammonia-ready vessels ordered by the company, and the first of five sister Pure Car & Truck Carriers (PCTC) ordered from China Merchants Heavy Industries Jiangsu. The Panama Canal Authority (ACP) has issued a two-stage reduction in the maximum authorised draft for vessels transiting the waterway’s Neopanamax locks in anticipation of the potential arrival of an El Niño in the coming months. From 26 August, the maximum authorised draft for vessels transiting the Neopanamax locks will be reduced to 48 feet (14.63 metres). A further adjustment will take effect on 3 September, lowering the maximum draft to 47.5 feet (14.48 meters).
