Bunkering Services Initiative begins drive to deliver efficiencies and transparency across ARA fuel supply chain

On 1 December, the Bunkering Services Initiative (BSI), a voluntary collaboration which includes bunker buyers and fuel suppliers that collectively account for around 20% of bunker volumes in the Amsterdam-Rotterdam-Antwerp (ARA region), officially launched operations in the world’s second largest bunker market with a mission to strike out opacity and questionable fuel quality and quantity practices and set a ‘gold standard’ in fuel deliveries based on full information disclosure, digitalisation and standardisation. He joined MRC in Oxford to launch BunkerNews, before establishing Petrospot in 2003 to publish Bunkerspot magazine, news and pricing services, and highly-respected bunker and shipping books.
