Vitol Bunkers adds HSFO to fuel offering in Pakistan

Vitol Bunkers is now supplying high sulphur fuel oil (HSFO) in Pakistan, and highlights that this is the country’s first HSFO bunkering service since 2020. The company already offers very low sulphur oil (VLSFO) and low sulphur marine gasoil (LSMGO) in Karachi Anchorage, Karachi Port and Port Qasim. Bunker deliveries are handled by Vitol Bunkers’ Singapore-flagged barge, Marine Ista, which has a fuel capacity of 6,800 metric tonnes (mt). Lloyd’s Register has announced three senior appointments in its China team, including the naming of Tianxiang Li (TX), LR’s Director of Global Technical Support Office (TSO), as President for Greater China. IMO to debate scrubber discharge bans and polar fuels at PPR 13

Member states of the International Maritime Organization (IMO) are set to discuss a proposal, put forward by a group of European countries, that would open the door for restrictions on discharges from exhaust gas cleaning systems (EGCS), also known as scrubbers, in Particularly Sensitive Sea Areas (PSSAs). Llewellyn has worked in bunkering, oil and shipping since 1980, as a journalist and broker, in London and New York, working for Argus, Petroleum Intelligence Weekly, Eperon Petroleum, Albion Oil and Energy Information. He joined MRC in Oxford to launch BunkerNews, before establishing Petrospot in 2003 to publish Bunkerspot magazine, news and pricing services, and highly-respected bunker and shipping books.

He has created and run globally-recognised events in 26 countries around the world, including Middle East Bunkering Convention, Maritime Week Americas, Maritime Week Africa, ARACON, London International Shipping Week and European Shipping Week, and runs internationally-renowned training programmes, including the Oxford Bunker Course and BunkerExperience.
