A new consortium comprising a range of industry stakeholders has been set up to establish a green shipping corridor between the Port of Açu in Brazil and the Port of Antwerp-Bruges in Belgium. Facilitated by the Global Maritime Forum and RMI, the consortium includes HIF Global, Fuella, NYK Line, Höegh Autoliners, and Wallenius Wilhelmsen, as well as the Brazilian and Belgian ports. DNV and the National Technical University of Athens (NTUA) have signed a Memorandum (MoU) that sets out a framework for cooperation on maritime research, education, training, innovation, and knowledge dissemination. Under the MoU, the class society and university intend to pursue collaborative research activities, to advance understanding of the technical and operational challenges facing shipping. The agreement establishes the basis for joint work across maritime research, education and training, with projects and activities to be developed under separate agreements as the partnership matures. The European Boating Industry (EBI) has launched a new roadmap which sets out practical industry and policy recommendations to support the decarbonisation of recreational boating and the development of marina infrastructure across Europe.
