In October, 229 vessels passed through the Suez Canal, which is the highest monthly figure since hostilities between Gaza and Israel intensified in October 2023, which impacted vessel operations in the Red Sea and Bab el-Mandeb region. Following the unveiling of the European Commission’s (EC) Sustainable Transport Investment Plan (STIP), Danish Shipping has called for ‘concrete action — and, not least, sufficient funding’ for the production of green fuels.
